Now that the season is winding down, what are your feelings on the switch to a new club?  DD's opportunities with our present club are dwindling and I would love to hear from someone who has been there.

I also see that you are coming to Orlando for AAU's.  It is a good tournament and the competition looks tough.  Maybe we will get to play your DD again!

overall a pretty good year. team play was inconsistent. we did not qualify for jo open div. that was my dd's goal for the season. some injuries, some new team "jelling" issues but mostly just not executing when on the court. we beat some teams we didn't expect to but lost to a few more that we shouldn't have.
as far as the club goes they respect dd's game and they are accessible 24/7/365. the only question for next year will be getting dd to a skill appropriate team. she can compete 1 to 2 years up just like hs.
speaking of, we are already getting ready for a state run this hs season. just sent $700 worth of camp checks out yesterday.
dd missed her old team this season but you have to look at the complete picture when making these decisions. whatever one you make you do the best you can and keep moving forward.
the mrs has relatives in tampa and we are taking an rv down for a few extra days after aau so it should be fun.

I hope you aren't in the doghouse for long. We have been wondering what happened to this team and understand it much more clearly now. My daughter has played against your daughter for two years now. We lost all three times, once in Dallas, once in Atlanta and once this past year in Miami. It has been good competition. CYC15Green will not be as good this year. Moving to OH is not as easy as it looks. We have a middle who is moving to OH this year and she won't be able to pass well enough to get playing time. Serve receive is already her downfall (shankapotimus) and we haven't played anyone even remotely good yet. I hope your season turns out to be a positive experience. Happy Holidays!

keep an eye out for st louis high performance. they were formerly team st louis, and for the last few years 3rd behind cyc green and blue. with blue gone and green transitioning personnel, that bumps stlhp up to second on paper. with their new power outside i am expecting very spirited competition.
middles thinking they can just go outside was the issue. they will have the exact problem you mentioned. balls will be flying everywhere. my dd is very good at the net and has very strong defense.
she had the best back row stats on her hs team. that was a big part of our decision to go. the coach apparently didnt respect her total game. he graded her lower than the b team middles at outside. i felt like i was taking crazy pills. he believes he can turn 4 middles into outsides because they are tall. we will see.
dd will be fine. she loves the game and plays it with great enthusiasm. it was hard for her to move but it was obvious it had to happen.
